The Role
MediaCore is looking for a highly motivated and experienced front-end web developer with a proven track record. You will be working within a small multi-disciplinary team of educators, designers and developers - so everyone is a thinker, a problem-solver, and plays a critical role in delivering the products that make our customers and their users happy. We are a nimble, high-energy startup, so this is a great opportunity for you to make your mark.

What you’ll be doing
The position will involve a prominent role in furthering development of MediaCore’s flagship product. You will be responsible for building high-quality, pixel-perfect, front-end application components that tightly integrate with our back-end systems. You will work closely with the design team to turn ideas, requirements and mockups into production-ready code using UI/UX best practices. The position is full-time.

Your must haves

• Expert knowledge of JavaScript
• Expert knowledge of fundamental web technologies (e.g. HTML/CSS)
• Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components
• Aware of but not reliant on Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks (MooTools, Google Closure)
• Experience developing rich applications with HTML/CSS/JS
• 3+ years of experience building web applications
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in any of the following

• Well-developed knowledge of database technologies including MySQL
• Experience with Google Closure and Mootools
• Experience with Python and PHP
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Experience using Vim and Git as development tools
• Ability to navigate deep into Photoshop layers to export slices and make sprites
